I have been fighting for women’s rights all my life, and I have a daughter of reproductive age. I read Atwood’s Handmaid’s Tale when it was published in the 1980s and it scared the hell out of me. Instead of burying my head in the sand, I became an ardent advocate for women’s health and equality.

Well I do take it personally. This administration will affect EVERYONE in one way or another—and not just Americans. US policies have far-reaching effects around the world.
Furthermore, many of us remain in red states in an effort to protect the vulnerable.

I am not sure I understand what you mean by
“…prop them up by continuing to live under their rule.” Do you suggest that half of the state relocates? How caring and compassionate you are to only be concerned about people in your state. Talk about privilege.

I agree, Phil. Many of us in SC DID vote differently. It may be a bit petty, but I really resent being lumped in with those who repeatedly vote against their own interests…
