5.30pm Fri 7th March, hours before ex-TCAlfred drenched parts of SEQld.

I consider myself fortunate to have escaped damage, but aware so many others were hit hard.

A few weeks ago, Brisbane experienced this amazing sunset.

Looking forward to seeing the sun again after all the rain.

It's been too long since I've visited. Lamington National Park, South East Queensland. Always incredible, and photos never do it justice.

An amazing dusk sky tonight.

Morning bushwalks in South East Queensland.

A popular spot in South East Queensland. Many people will stop on the side of the road and spend time relaxing on the grass, enjoying the view.

It's also a spot where handgliders will take off into the sky.

Since 1982, the OG Star Wars has been my comfort.

Once upon a time, I hated cats. I would not even touch them. Now, I have two. And, I kinda like them.

But, cats can cause harm to native animals. 4 out of 5 cats that are let to roam, kill. And, they don't always bring back what they kill, so you'd never know.

Please don't let cats roam outside.

How can I not post this gorgeous green tree frog? A regular visitor.

I get a little worried because of the two cats that I see roaming around at night. Please keep cats indoors.

Wallabies look similar to kangaroos, though smaller. Wallabies, like kangaroos, show a preference for using their left paw- except when supporting their weight.

My experience is also that wallabies tend to be a lot more cautious and timid.

I love being able to take walks in places like this that are local to me. I was here on the weekend, hoping to see a snake or two. Alas, none to be found, despite the perfect weather. I have no doubt I passed a number on my walk; their camouflage game was on point.

Morning sunrise on a bushwalk. One of the best ways to start the day. Admittedly, not an everyday occurrence, with the suburban streets being the usual morning walk.

The emu can be found in the wild throughout most of Australia, except Tasmania.

The males take on the role of incubating eggs and looking after the young for about the first 4 months.

This one I saw in captivity- I wouldn't find a wild one in the more densely populated area of SE Qld.

Eastern grey kangaroo. Majority of kangaroos show a preference for using their left paw for tasks like grooming & supporting their body when eating grass.

My eldest & I took a drive late last year, around where I grew up, where we saw this one (along w/ many others)

A leucistic magpie (on left) compared with a regular magpie. Leucism is different to albinism, with leucism impacting the amount of black pigment (as opposed to not producing any). Leucistic magpies are rare.

This is the only one I've ever seen, which was a few years ago.

The bush stone curlew is active primarily at night. They feed on insects and small vertebrates. They don't need to drink water as they can stay hydrated through the food they consume.

This curlew was in a large park area in the city.

The galah. Also, a term used as a mild insult, suggesting someone is a clown or fool. I can think of a few of those right now....

A galah is smaller than a cockatoo, and a bit more timid. These birds can fly up to 70km/hr.

The carpet python continues to grow during its entire lifespan, and can reach up to 4m.

This beautiful one I saw on a late afternoon walk, ready to catch suitable prey.

Although they have lungs, the majority of oxygen exchange for the Australian Green Tree Frog is via its skin. This can be reduced if their skin is dry.

This froggo frequently visits my place at night.

The beak of the sulphur-crested cockatoo appears a matted grey because of a white powder produced when grooming. A shiny black beak can suggest the bird is unwell.
This one felt safe enough foraging on the ground as I passed.
