The company’s o1 reasoning model “hallucinated 16 percent of the time” when summarizing public information, while newer models o3 and o4-mini “hallucinated 33 percent and 48 percent of the time, respectively.”

Me in the Japanese garden at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. I'm a bald, middle-aged white guy wearing a black leather motorcycle jacket and a lovely silk brocade scarf that's mostly green. My jacket's lapels have a bunch of colorful pins on them, including an enamel pin of a cherry blossom flower. I've been writing using em dashes since the 1990s. The reason AI uses em dashes is because it was trained on my writing, and that of countless other humans like me.
