I used to say the very same thing until I got a tiny little rice cooker off of tiktokshop. It's the best. Really it is.

I love my rice cooker. Love it! 2 scoops of rice, water, 1 can of Dollar Tree Chicken & Gravy, & black pepper. Lunch for 2 for about $1.50.
