I know in my Linux distro (I use Bazzite with KDE) you have to explicitly tell an application you want it to start on login.
I'm not sure if mint has something similar, I'm personally not the biggest fan of it myself so I haven't looked into it too much

Do you mean git desktop or the CLI tool?
Pretty much every Linux distribution I've used has come with git CLI or had it installable from the repos...
To be fair, I don't do development work nearly as much since it's just a hobby for me so I may be overlooking something obvious

for what its worth, it may be worth considering converting the filesystems from NTFS to BTRFS if you end up deciding you no longer wish to use the drive in windows, there's a tool you can find on github for that (im sure you've googled enough quirks and issues to be able to find it)

Honestly I think the microblogging format X popularized in conjunction with ragebait algorithms have poisoned the concept of social media beyond it being worth using beyond the occasional post or looking at art.
If X, or anything inspired by it go away, I will not shed a tear.

I see these kinds of criticisms thrown at people way too often. Its so exhausting.
Salem of all people doesn't deserve that. Honestly a majority of people only see what he posts publicly, and IMO if you do not know someone personally you have no right to pass judgement anyway.
The internet sucks.
