“Nitrates derogation” is such a sanitised term. It almost sounds like a good thing. If they called it what it really is, “licence to dump cow shit in our waterways” I imagine it would garner more opposition.

Ordinarily, this kind of smackdown would motivate people into taking action. But since we have a government incapable of experiencing shame, we’ll get a bunch of words from them followed by zero action… as always.

This 1,000 times! Have the left parties running together under a banner of “Progressive Ireland” or something of the sort, run someone for every single seat in the next election, and don’t argue over details until after we’re in government. After all, we agree on all the big things.

I’ll never understand why some revel in causing others to lose their livelihoods over some perceived wrongdoing or different political views. One of my favourite profs in college held views completely opposite to mine, yet I enjoyed his classes immensely.

They were given time to adapt to the regulations through the derogation. They instead saw it as a licence to continue business as usual. They get no sympathy from me.

I see it simply as the Greens having abandoned their constituency by their faithful obedience to FFG, so their constituency abandoned them.
