You got it wrong. If we just threw millions of dollars into a new site for center-left pundits writing long think pieces about how they would win over voters, that will surely move the needle. Why waste that money building localized news networks that directly confront right-wing media narratives?

I was going to ask the same question. It is a beautiful short film, for anyone interested: youtu.be/eB9JdjNCiiA?...

Maybe I'm missing something but that is the T. rex model he made for his video, just with a photoshopped glasses and beanie. Where is the AI?

There has also been a lot of debate over their positioning of their front legs, as they evolved from bipedal dinosaurs. Anyway, I thought the answer was five toes on their front legs and four on their rear, but I'm not expert.

It's frustrating that the filmmakers forgot that one of the things that made the original film stand out was the science behind the dino designs. Popular media up to that point portrayed dinos as lumbering, tail-dragging reptiles. You could do something similar here, but instead we get "mutants."

As others pointed out, these changes happened long ago, and the NY Times only now noticed because Musk tweeted something. The game's audience has become more diverse and it is changing to reflect that. But it doesn't go over well with the loser gatekeepers who have always been a problem in D&D.

... Hardly a case of out-of-control "wokism" at the Times. It was actually showing the management being sensitive to the converns a conservative staff member, but that wouldn't have fit the narrative of The Atlantic article.

It was confirmed but The Atlantic article left out crucial context: When Times management was told about the incident, they confronted the HR representative, who acknowledged she was in the wrong. The only reason she wasn't reprimanded was the author chose not to elevate it...

And don't forget banning fluoride in water so we can all have those big beautiful British smiles.

Good to know. I know there was a rift about this on Science-Based Medicine a while back.

... When I and other complained about having two very vocal anti-science speakers headlining a skeptics conference, pointing to multiple examples of their writings and speeches, Shermer's reply: "Why do liberals always complain." He rather make excuses than acknowledge his own political bias there.

I've admittedly stopped following the traditional skeptics movement. I can actually remember the first nail in the coffin from many, many years ago, when Shermer invited Michael Crichton and John Stossel as keynote speakers at a skeptics convention...
