That’s really insightful. There’s often a cognitive dissonance at play here too, where the advantageous person quickly attributes their success to their competence rather than their patron.

Sorry, the appropriate response here should have been, grief is hard and your feelings are valid. Be kind to yourself, it really is a process. Have you ever heard of the ball in the box analogy?

There’s a really good podcast on this, it was never meant to be linear but Elizabeth Kubler-Ross always said her work was misinterpreted. I’ll try to find the link, it was either Unlocking us (Brene Brown) or ReThinking (Adam Grant)
