I recently found this video of the 1986 Tokyo Toy Show from the Associated Press and it included footage of the Transformers display along with a demo of the flagship toy for the year, Ultra Magnus. Sadly the footage was muted but still cool to find #Transformers

There's tonnes of promos and artwork for the Diaclone/Microman lines that ended up as Transformers but there's not much for Astro Magnum or Mechabot-1 who ended up as Shockwave and Omega Supreme. #Transformers

Back in 1988 the Transformers were featured in The UK Marvel Bumper Comic summer special along with several other big 80s lines like Thundercats and The Real Ghostbusters.

It's just to generate buzz as saying "about 100 episodes" is not as punchy as "over 100 episodes" There's another ad from the same year that doesn't even mention a episode count.

I think there was a bit of false adverting in this Transformers trade advert from 1987. "Over 100 half hour TV shows"? there wasn't even that many in total let alone at this point as The Rebirth wasn't ready and that only would take the total to 98 episodes🤔

Got lucky recently and managed to get the Rare Headmasters Mail Away Cassette to capture for the site along with the Japanese Transformers ONE rental Blu Ray which came with the DVD that the seller threw in😁#Transformers

Yea it's a pretty cool colour palette for the Dinobots.The other side also has a more cartoon style individual picture.

i think the only thing it barely covers is the jigsaw puzzle sets which only show the boxes and sealed sets. I grabbed pictures of the 2 sets from a auction a few years ago. They make a cool mural when they are all collected.

Yea for little model kit toys they are surprisingly pretty close to the original figures plus the little extras the newer releases had like the extra Protectobots members. Have you seen the guide book for the original 80s versions?
