If you're going to post stats like that, @simonlester.com, I'll remind everyone that former hockey player Brent Gretzky, with help of Wayne, holds the legit NHL record for most career points by two brothers.

Port of Vancouver still ships more met coal than thermal as the stats below show. Why it dropped at Westshore is the expansion at Neptune in the inner harbour. It's half owned by Teck/Elk Valley so it shifted a lot of met coal exports there starting in 2021. @seandunn.bsky.social

I presume it's "The prime minister resembles the Liberals of the 1990s" line as nonsense? Here's the context that is familiar with those who remember the government under Jean Chretien and Paul Martin.

Great conversation thank you. The screenshot below that @pkrugman.bsky.social posted separately on his substack previewing this podcast could also say that those in charge are only in favor of progress they can take (steal) credit for.

Trade agreements, not "deals", matter.
Interesting also from former BC Trade Rep Stuart Culbertson's @vancouversun.bsky.social Op-ed: #Canada's negotiators didn't find out until the last minute #CUSMA rules survived the July 31st announcement. #cdnpoli #cdnecon

Interesting metaphor from today's @economist.com World in Brief to explain China's deflation problem. Describing self-defeating competition as #involution is fitting in so many ways these days.

Think I shared this with you before on that other site but here's that handy Bloom County view of American liberals over 40 years ago. Again, not to be confused with Canadian liberals, especially under the new PM.

Article by @nationalpost.bsky.social is behind a paywall but @johnivison.bsky.social sums up a still present challenge. The divisiveness that drove Poilievre was rejected by the election but #Canada still needs to address it given what it has done to the US. #cdnpoli

"Why Trump Will Lose.." from @pkrugman.bsky.social concurs with @adamposen.bsky.social's piece last week on Trump's team's misunderstanding of #trade wars.
On top of that is their lack of credibility in competency, coherence, & trustworthiness.

Among the many great points in @adamposen.bsky.social's piece is #trade is not meant to be a game of winners & losers. Played that way, though, it'll be more about who's prepared to take the punch & neither the US economy nor people are ready.

Follow up! Spring to me has felt to be a better time for New Years, especially with cherry blossoms like these at Langara College. Good time for a new start anyways. If yesterday was any indication, people are making their voices heard. Keep your head & #elbowsup!

An Ontario BlueSky buddy asked for a West Coast cherry blossom pic. This'll have to do for now.
