It goes even deeper than most would think, Zwingli considered himself a loyal devotee to him throughout his life even unto the end. People love to say his ideas were uniquely Swiss, but his intellectual inheritance came wholly from Erasmus.

Wow I always forget he said that. Along with his undying loyalty to Erasmus, he also has an hagiographical account of his death. His heart was found incorruptible by his friends after soldiers burned his body.

Zwingli’s mystic side is definitely massively overlooked.
