We speak of equality, but practice divide
Our words, a hollow promise, as systemic injustices reside
The weight of oppression crushes, like the darkest night
And still, we fail to act, as the innocent take flight..

But one day, I lost my voice,
My apologies silenced, my choice.

And I spoke up, without saying sorry tonight.

I said sorry for speaking my mind,
