i know this sounds terrible but the story stops spinning its wheels around the 30 hour mark and evolves over the rest of the game into something really quite good.

i was very glad i liked the drpg systems enough to stick with it through that first chunk because i was shocked by how good it became

i dont necessarily disagree i just dont know that its success is as foregone a conclusion as something like DK or Pokemon. I could see it going either way at that price point. of the ones i mentioned i do think air riders has the best shot at doing really well tho

apparently a bit over a million people bought the switch version of mario party jamboree though, which is a real shock to my system lmao. imagining 1 million people seeing an $80 price tag on mario party and being like "well sure, all right then" is brutal.

itll be interesting imo to see how many of nintendos games can actually tank that $70 pricetag. im not surprised donkey kong and pokemon managed. things like hyrule warriors, air riders, metroid prime 4.... dunno.

mario tennis will be especially interesting.
