Just trying to make the world a better place.
I always enter at these doors as it’s one of the very few spots I can actually put my bike. I understand I won’t have priority over someone in a scooter or wheelchair but I find this pretty silly. Either provide for bikes or get rid of silly signs.

In a taxi from Adelaide airport and within 2 mins have seen sharrows on a road and now the old peak hour painted bike lane. At least the have Frome Street!

Delighted to see amazing new bike infrastructure in my area this morning. 50kph speed limit and several thousand vehicles use this street every day. 😐

No excuse for this lack of connection

Excited that I set the wheels in motion for this over a year ago and now it is actually happening next week.

Just in Chicago at the moment. Piecemeal is the only way I can describe the cycling infrastructure. A million miles off all ages and abilities, that’s for sure. This is one of the better bits.

Terrifying

Down in G-town yesterday. My first look at Malop Street. I like the trees, seating, wide footpaths. Bike lane and consideration for loading and access for all. Nice big pram without sharp level difference where people need them. Am sure there is the odd unwanted interaction but a decent job.

Just popped out to edithvale for an evening out with a few lads. Literally nowhere to park my bike near the pub. Very frustrating.

This is from a guidance document recently released. Personally I think there is way too much unnecessary clutter in this.

First bus stop bypass I ever designed back when I was TfL. Plumstead Road in London. You may remember this one. @willnorman.co.uk

Starting to see a few in oz now. Lots of OTT discussions about lines and signs though.

I get the intent of slowing the merge down but I just can't get my head around sharing the lane on the inside like that when there are other options. I would wager on the unsignalised version, most the time you don't even need a left turn lane

Must admit every time I see this pop up in a design guide it terrifies me. Personally I couldn't design something that pins a rider into a lane whilst someone gets annoyed behind them. Its asking for intimidation or attempts to boot up the inside regardless of signage and space.

Twice in a week in my area. Once more and reversing into a house is going to be a pandemic!

Local library. E-bikes, cargo bike, bike with trailer and not enough bike stands. Enabling local riding is the low hanging fruit everyone seems to forget about. Commuter riding accounts for about 10% of cycling trips depending where you are. Let’s work on the easy stuff.
