The Camp Fire hit Paradise in 2018, 20 minutes from my hometown, Chico. This year, the Park Fire devastated the park in Chico and surrounding areas. Blech.

Watching these fires devastate California over the years and destroy greater amounts of nature and lives is emotionally grueling. It's heartbreaking and ominous given the climate context.
