You can argue that there are parts of the other adaptations that do in fact hype him up in a battle shonen sense but those feel like exceptions rather than the rule. Here, though, a lot of page space is dedicated to emphasizing the chuunibyou facet of his vampirism. It does make for gorgeous art!
