Apparently the update is a bit blown out of proportion. It’s just now when people pick random, it goes random for the courses they want to pick online. Not sure if most would really care about the exploit.

We’ve seen critically acclaimed classics like BOTW, Odyssey, Smash Ultimate, and Xenoblade get their flowers, but in the end, the best selling game was a deluxe port of Mario Kart 8. I’m not saying that World will reach 70+ million, but it’ll be part of Nintendo’s long term strategy.

I think the misinformation sort of soured the hype around switch 2. Granted, the initial launch numbers are impressive to say the least. Ultimately, Mario Kart World, whether it’s launch or not, was going to be the bigger deal, especially long-term.

But it made sense with Mario Kart World being the headliner. It was part of the first tease of Switch 2 and in a business sense it works because it’ll be a long-term game for Nintendo in terms of sales for both hardware and software.

I’m hoping SF6 did good to start with the launch of Switch 2. It’s been a great experience so far and playing it docked and undocked makes a difference for me.

Well online, for whatever it is worth, can be volatile in terms of feedback. There are some substantial criticisms that can be noted, but sometimes online can also lead to exaggerated claims. Just like we saw with the misinfo on switch 2.

Yea it’s a route most third parties chose with the game keys. They want it and Nintendo wants to show on store shelves that they have more than just Mario Kart at retail. Though that hasn’t really stopped me from buying a few of them since they’re games I wanted to play.

I mean if you’re no longer interested in Nintendo’s games, then I can understand getting an OLED Steam Deck.

Idk I’m seeing from the people I check on playing a lot of Mario Kart World. Knockout Tour is a great new mode at least.

Yup and the direct the week prior to the Switch 2 direct doubled down on the fact that Nintendo will not abandon the Switch 1 just because the Switch 2 is coming.

Second, Bowser said he understood the concern for the higher prices, but assured that the console would be worth it. If not, he then said that they’ll still bring content to the cheaper Switch 1, which was already the plan.

I read the whole quote and..I don’t see the comparison. First of all, the don mattrick quote was regarding online only for Xbox One. Bowser was talking about the concerns on the Switch 2’s price.

They said they will talk more about by the end of the fiscal year, which is march 2025. Which also means that they can talk about it sooner like in January 2025.
