These statues, in Bologna, honor the memories of a group of partisans who fought the fascists in a skirmish in the early days of WW2. The statues were cast in bronze that was reclaimed from a statue of Mussolini, destroyed after the liberation of Bologna. I’m looking at you, Andrew Jackson.
