Churches do want to know the people they are helping. Most churches are struggling with finances to a degree. Often moneys are given according to a pre planned church budget. Missions are certainly a part of that.

Many churches are wary of scammers and set up communities programs to help people and support that. But my church does not require church membership to be helped.
