Yep. The year before Watson and Crick won, the Nobel committee gave out a posthumous prize. There was no reason for Franklin to be overlooked other than bias.

The same person would also score very low on an IQ test because...they still need to be able to read the IQ test. Hence, an IQ test is still not a useful measure for voting. A civics test (given verbally for illiterate folks) is still more appropriate for baseline knowledge for voting.

So, to clarify, IQ tests measure academic ability and scores are reproducible for individuals and as an aggregate measure of access to academics. However, as an instrument, they are not valid for IQ as you pointed out with your example of an illiterate person being unable to read a civics test. 1/2

No, IQ tests are notoriously biased and don't actually measure IQ.

I am reminded of Karl Rove breaking into his own Republican campaign headquarters during George W Bush's gubernatorial campaign and claiming Democrats did it. Rove wagged the dog right before voting day and Bush won.

I think it's fine to end that tradition and use it to uplift a person that doesn't just affect world events, but actually makes the world a better place.

The problem is all of the others that support him. Vance might be President next; we'll still have an enormous problem on our hands when Trump shakes off his mortal coil. He's not really the one who's running this.
