Margaux from the southern part of Bordeaux. Left bank of the Gironde River which bisects Bordeaux. Decant a Bordeaux before drinking or open a couple of hours ahead. This is the 2nd wine of this House. Very good not terribly expensive. #Winesky

Littorai Pinot Noir. I swore off PN years ago. Too much nose and palate redolent of cedar. This is not that. It’s delicious. Had shrimp pasta for dinner. Held up well. This wine is expensive but if you afford it I highly recommend it. #Winesky

Another Barbera D’Asti. 2020 Camp du Rouss. excellent wine. I mostly rate wines on their friendliness for food. Great with steak this evening. Enjoying a glass for the after dinner hour. #Winesky

Albariño. A Spanish grape/wine. Great for a porch party in a warm weather site. $16 It’s an easy drinking, light bodied white. Shrimp seems like an obvious food match. Zarate Winery.

Again my favorite red wine. “Pure”Winery Chateauxnruf du Pape Rhone River Valley France. %100 Grenache. 2021 Vintage. Wonderful with meat, red sauce pasta, any big taste or just a glass (maybe) two on the porch. If you’re in San Antonio look me up. A glass on the porch! #Winesky

2021 Relevant Cabernet Sauvignon from Crown Point vineyard, Santa Barbara area of California. Nice fruit and restrained tannins. Not inexpensive but for its quality I believe it’s worth the price. Delightful with street tacos for dinner.

A 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape. Southern Rhone river France. My favourite type of wine. Rich, full bodied. Homage a Maryline. The winery. I like this particular CDP quite a lot. 2016 was good year for wine.

Viogner from The Darioush winery in Napa California. A White. My second try. First at a tasting. I was and am impressed. Not much like a Chardonnay at all. Went well with ham for dinner. #Winesky

White Burgundy. Winery located very near Puligny Montrachet a superior appellation for much less money. If wine interests try to find a merchant well versed and who fairly prices the products. The internet can be helpful but try to avoid scores. They can become what you drink. #Winesky

Clos du Val 2022 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Not a fruit bomb like many Napa red wines. It’s good and reasonably priced. #Winesky

St Veran. White Burgundy (Chardonnay) a wine i prefer to Pouilly Fuisse generally much less expensive. I found St Veran 20 years ago. Happy to get some yestarday. Shared with my wife this evening. #Winesky

More White Burgundy/Chardonnay. Jadot is a large presence in French wines. I’ve always found his products to be fairly priced for the wine sold. 2022 Ladoix. I like this. Finishing this evening. #Winesky

Last evening and gameday. Nice young Napa Cabernet. Im going to layoff the descriptions. Not my strong suit anyway. I will voice my opinion of the wine. This wine is good and in a few more years might be very good. Clos du Val Winery very well known. #Winesky

2017 Trimbach Riesling. Delightful bit of smoke red delicious apple up front
Same drinking adding a touch of citrus. Long lip smacking finish. An outstanding wine. Trimbach is a great name in Riesling at most price points. I got a bargain on this.

Tonight’s wine. A wonderful White Burgundy. Peach, red rose on the nose. Red apple stewed peaches long finish slightly citrus. 2022. This wine can be kept for several more years. Great structure. 2/3 last night. 1/3 this evening.

Bottle for last evening and this. A nice Alsatian Riesling. notes about Riesling. Alsatians are lighter and a but more fruit forward than say Mosel Riesling. Not all Riesling is sweet. This is 2021 vintage. Apple pie, white rose nose, crisp red apple hint of citrus on the long juicy palate. #Winesky

Last evening’s half bottle, tonight’s half bottle. Probably the most well known white Burgundy. Pouilly Fuisse generally doesn’t break the bank and is generally delicious #Winesky
