I don't think there is any legal reason for NSPower to have your social insurance number. There are limited, specific situations where you have to provide it. Getting electricity isn't likely one of them. I refuse to provide my SIN to non-authorized entities.

Using "is" when "are" is correct. It's like nails on the blackboard for me.

We have a rather large ficus plant and I keep the decorations and lights in it all year. There aren't a lot of baubles and most of them are not especially Christmas looking. We plug it in when the mood moves us to do so. It's just the two of us and it works for us.

The spousal unit found a toonie and a loonie! We're (parking meter) rich!

And you can turn left from a one-way street to another one-way street!

Not sure that one can “…make up the truth”. Something is either true or not.

I too have been wondering about protest songs. Maybe the idea is passe now although with social media, the reach today would vastly outstrip the 60's.

Hmmmm....the Euro does not appear to reflect this.

"start as you mean to go on" in play here. He is no dilettante; he's on a mission and everyone around him will have to up their game. Good. Transition always has its rough spots and they will get sorted. I don't have access to the CP Style Guide. What are FP writers are supposed to follow?

Since you don't have to actually reside in the riding, why not?

Or the resignation is just a statement of intent at this time. He'll take his seat for 6 months, qualify for his pension and then pull the plug. The house does not normally sit over the summer so it's not like important parliamentary business will be missed.

Maybe they were counting on Carney taking his sweet time to call the by-election - more than 6 months at which time he would have qualified. Carney stating he will call it right away throws a big wrench in that plan. Just spit-ballin' here.

ugh! The waste of money and his side-piece.

That is a complete waste of money. Clearly not a monarchist.

I'd like to know the basis for their comments. An Act is an Act; not a recommendation.

A quick tour with google suggests than Canada is the only (or among the few) countries that provides this benefit for the leader of the opposition. Britain and Australia do not appear to do so. I think Canada should also dispense with this expense - the sooner the better.

I don't see that in the Official Residences Act.

The party hasn't decided if he stays or goes. If he stays as party leader, charge the CPC the going market rental rate, get a hefty damage deposit and first and last month and make the CPC cover ALL expenses: staff, replairs, modifications, moving etc. Maybe there's a buck or two to be made.

I just had an online exchange with someone who used to work on The Hill. An additional piece of work adding to the timeline is that losing MPs (including PP) have to clean out their offices before the next one moves in. And there might be some shuffling of offices as well.
