In lieu of posting more artwork for a while I’ve decided to share my U.S. National Park & Monument photos from 2022 when I was homeless and traveling.
My purpose was to spend all of my savings in order to confront my fear of financial instability, which I imagined was a death sentence. It wasn’t.

My internment lasted years and was brutal beyond description. I know what it feels like to be consumed with deep anger and hatred.
But I also knew, in theory, the Buddhist way of extending compassion to those harming me. So I practiced.

Looked for more art of Sorn (another character I invented in the early 2000s) but since my old job squashed all the joy out of my body and then I was homeless all I’ve got right now are half-done doodles BUT I got a tremendous idea recently for a design update for him. He is awful and I love him

Almost exactly 10-year-old sketch page of a character I made up 20+ years ago, he’s gone through so many redesigns and I’m planning on making him look a bit more mechanical since he’s both his own self and a vessel for yet another hidden /surprise plot twist character

A passage from the short story "Lady of the Skulls" by Patricia A. McKillip has been burned into my memory for probably two decades now and I just found a decent PDF online to re-read the whole piece. Highly recommended if you've got a few minutes.
