❗The scandal around breast cancer screenings in Andalusia is shocking.

Under the right-wing PP government, results were never communicated to at least 2,300 women.

I stand with @verdesequo.es co-leader Mar González & the thousands demanding transparency & accountability across Andalusia.

❤️ Great meeting with Yolanda Díaz, Ernest Urtasun & Lara Hernández of @movimientosumar.es today in Madrid!

❗More than ever, we need transnational alliances in the fight for a green & social Europe.

🇪🇺 The task of the EU is clear: invest in people & planet.

Excellent news for democracy in Serbia! 🇷🇸
The @europarl.europa.eu AFET committee has voted Serbian students as finalists for the #sakharovprize for Freedom of Thought!
We @europeangreens.eu are celebrating their fight for democracy and transparency, today and always✊🏻

The majority of EU member states now recognise the state of Palestine. An important step, but recognition alone will not stop the genocide.
We will keep saying it until it becomes reality: we need sanctions, arms embargo and to suspend of the EU–Israel Association Agreement. Now!

A UN commission of inquiry has ruled: Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

And in the face of a genocide - inaction is complicity.

The EU has a responsibility to act:

🇵🇸Full suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement
🇵🇸Full weapons embargo and sanctions
🇵🇸Recognise the state of Palestine

I am relieved that my colleague Dmitry Kuchuk was released from prison in Belarus yesterday, with 51 others.

Together with @liberecophr.bsky.social l, I became Dmitry's political godparent.

However, over 1000 remain behind bars, and Europe must not ease up the pressure on Lukashenko's regime

Vučić’s threats will not deter us! 🇷🇸

What we witnessed yesterday is the authoritarianism that Serbian citizens face daily. Our solidarity is with them, their courage in defending democracy deserves support, not hostility.

Is Airbnb helping or hurting local residents in touristic areas? 🏠☀️

Over-tourism is a major contributor to the housing crisis in many parts of Europe and has sparked mass protests in cities like Barcelona.

I am devastated that my country, Greece, is on fire yet again.

Multiple fires are blazing across the country and in neighbouring Turkey, after temperatures reached 42.4°C on Sunday.

Homes and forests have been destroyed, and people forced to flee their villages.

Our demands are clear.

The EU must stop the slaughter of civilians.

We must act #now against Netanyahu, his government and the Israeli military who are starving the people of Gaza.

The worst wildfire in Cyprus in 50 years.

This is what the climate emergency looks like.

At least 13 people dead, dozens injured, and hundreds displaced in Cyprus and Turkey. I send my condolences to the victims and their families.

The cause?

This week I was in Strasbourg remembering friend, colleague and pathfinder Alex Langer, after 30 years without him 💚

Abbiate cura.
Degli altri, della Terra, del tempo.
Abbiate cura di ciò che cresce lentamente.
E camminate.
Non da soli, ma insieme.
Più lentamente, più in profondità, più dolcemente

1) The world was watching when Siarhei Tsikhanouski was released from prison last month and was reunited with his wife Sviatlana. But more than 1,000 political prisoners remain behind bars in Belarus. Amongst them is my colleague Dzmitry Kuchuk, the former chair of the Belarusian Green Party.

What a weekend in Budapest, marching with hundreds of thousands of people standing up for love and democracy 🇪🇺💪

The green family was out in force! 💚

Fruitful discussions with the Western Attica Business Association. Elefsina and Western Attica have deep industrial and environmental footprints, but they now have an enormous role to play in a just, green transition. Transforming away from the “old” economy requires ambition and bold new ideas 🇬🇷

🇭🇺Orbán’s government is attacking LGBTQIA+ persons’ rights to freedom of assembly, as well as cracking down on civil society and independent media. Human rights, rule of law and democratic principles are not being respected
. Europe has the power to stand up to Orban - the Commission must take action

What an honour to welcome Serbian student ultramarathon runners to Brussels! After the Novi Sad tragedy, they are standing up against corruption, democratic backsliding and lack of government accountability. @europeangreens.eu stand with Serbia, always 🇷🇸

Aleksandar Vučić, who’s party is STILL an associate member of the @eppofficial.bsky.social, showed yesterday where his loyalties lie.

The EPP claims they are pro-European and pro-Ukraine. So it is time for them to take a stand. Political coherence matters.

When Serbian president Vučić makes threats like this, the European party he's associated with should remind him of the basics of democracy and non-violence before things get out of hand. Time for EPP President Manfred Weber to pick up his phone. We as Greens support the protests. 💚🇷🇸

“I’m out of oxygen”

The Greek people have been betrayed by their own government.

This weekend they demanded justice for the 57 people killed in a train crash nearly two years ago, but they also made clear their mistrust for the entire system.

Their voices must be heard.
The EU must act now.
