This is a mistake. AOC draws support from progressives and Trump supporters both. She represents our increasingly populist age and this scares some in the party old guard. Clinging to obsolete shibboleths will make the democrats increasingly irrelevant. Change or die.

Connolly is a good communicator and very tough but he is also very, very old. What kind of message does this send when the grassroots is angrily demanding change? Gerontocracy is strangling the Democratic Party. It’s also a vote of no-confidence in new generation from the party old-guard.

They just look like a bunch of semi-formally dressed politicians out for lunch to me. Isn’t this a good thing? Isn’t a normal civilian government the whole idea? It seems some don’t actually want the new Syria to succeed.🤔

It could be a lot worse given this man’s history with AQ and JAN. Let’s retain some perspective here please. Basic law and order and electricity is where the bar is set at the moment. Also worth noting there is no strict hijab law in Idlib where HTS has governed for several years.

Israel has destroyed the military airfield in Damascus to help HTS and prevent Russia from landing reinforcements. Destroying chemical weapons is also a good thing. Should Israel allow Sarin and chlorine gas to fall into the hands of a potential terror state? These narratives of yours are simplistic

I voted for Harris because I expected her to restrain Israel but here we are. It’s not really a question of what I support at this point. This is what I see happening.

Yes and it will be hellish for the Palestinians, I’m sure. It won’t be funny when this is still going on a year from now. The plan is to depopulate and wall off Northern Gaza and use it as a base to dig up the tunnels. This is a major industrial project, not just a war. I doubt Trump will stop them.

Israel’s goal is to degrade hamas over time to where they can be replaced with another Arab political authority. They say this siege will last 2-3 years. Hamas is trapped in Gaza so IDF is in no rush. They have taken a major beating so far and IDF casualties have been lower than expected.
