I had no idea what I was letting myself in for. But i figure if i totally finish one, and it looks as good as I hope, it'll motivate me to continue. And if it looks shit i will just scuff sand the others and paint them all white without having sanded down 3 doors for nothing.

It's also an entire ballache because at one point someone wallpapered over gloss. Then someone glossd over that. Then someone skimmed it with plaster and glossed again. Every time i thought this must be the original coat there was more.

It's a bit too risky tbh, some of the paint has been there since the 40s and 50s, so lord knows what's in it. Having to wet sand very slowly wearing a heavy duty mask and goggles, with the vacuumm attachment so it's heavy too

Only being able to use my rather shit hand sander for about 45 mins before I end up with 6 weeks of shoulder pain has not helped my progress

When it was finished i told him it had come out a little more abstract than i intended , but i loved how the colours blended in the sky. Then, when he asked to see it, I showed him this:

It's frustrating because I'm never quite satisfied with what I've created 😆

It took me a hundred billion years to work out the leaf placement* and that's the aspect I'm not sure i like. My stems are all wrong.

* i may have shortened it a teeny bit for the video

When i get annoyed with my washing machine for not spinning enough water out, or taking too long to unlock, i remember my great-granny stayed in London during the blitz, working as a washer woman in a tenement with one cold water tap for the building to share, and I give myself a mental slap 😁

Hospitals are weird liminal spaces that bend time and all you can do is exist, it's awful
