It's a simpler and easier explanation for why everything sucks than self reflection.

There's cult like elements to it as well in the way it exploits insecurities and fragile elements of a lot of their target groups masculinity and identity.

They're still selling the patriarchal fantasy that if you're just "man enough" and have a job, you're entitled to a woman to do everything else for you.

That lie has been running for a long time and it appeals to men who *want* it to be true.

They also blame women/feminism for it not working.
