The dedication of North Dakota’s leaders is truly extraordinary, and their unwavering commitment to implementing proven, people-centered strategies to enhance public safety is inspiring. I am so grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to see what's next for this amazing state!

Making money, but also being forced to absorb more people when in many instances local jails are already near, at, or over capacity. This will inevitably drain state/local resources, increase pressure on local law enforcement, and jeopardize the safety of both those in custody and LEOs.

Those offenses, if broken out, would be incredibly helpful when composing narratives explaining this data to lawmakers! With the national push to crack down on ‘organized retail crime’ it’s easy for those unfamiliar with the data to assume ‘theft’ is only considering retail issues.
