To All A Good Night is a 1980 slasher that makes Silent Night Deadly Night 2 look like It's A Wonderful Life.

I always thought of The Shape from the Halloween Legacy Trilogy was basically Marley from Home Alone if the stories were true. Maybe I should double feature these for the holiday.

Twistee is just shy of 30 years old, and somehow, the visuals still haven't lost their magic.

Twister really is an iconic movie that doesn't get enough credit. Not just for its set pieces and effects but for its writing and characters. It may pile on the melodrama on occasion, but Twister still works not just as a thriller but as a tale of obsession and reconciliation.

With Stranger Things, I keep thinking 'eh, show isn't that good.' Then I start a new season and go "oh wait. It IS good.' I am glad they're wrapping things up with this latest season. So far looks like they are bringing the curtain down with a bang.

Pleased to bring this stellar edition of The Shining into my 4k collection, made all the better by the awesome art of @mattferguson.bsky.social. I'd call Matt today's Drew Struzan, and their art is always a joy.

Want another excellent holiday chiller? 1984s Silent Night Deadly Night has you covered. This movie really is a genre best.

4k for this just arrived today and after a rewatch, 1974's Black Christmas (from the director of A Christmas Story) has never been scarier. If you are looking for a truly great Christmas Horror flick, you'd be hard pressed to find one better than this!

Damn right it is.

After the Legacy Trilogy, I got my perfect story with The Shape (with some Silver Shamrock masks as a bonus!) So I'm all for hopping back onto the anthology idea. If you liked Halloween III, you may also like Night of the Creeps. Also stars Tom Atkins and has a similar vibe.

Columbus Ohio still has some refreshingly green places.

It's been really cool seeing Henry Thomas in more stuff lately. His roles in Flannigan's work have all been great. Also, dude killed it as young Norman Bates.

Aside from its technical prowes and being one of the best tributes to the Golden Age of animation, Who Framed Roger Rabbit is also one of the best film noir private eye flicks ever. Sure the villain is obvious, but so what? This movie NAILS that noir mood and is perhaps my genre fav.

Tarzan came out when the Disney Renaissance was winding down, but I think its the most underrated entry in that cycle. Great world and characters, and some genuinely emotional moments. Glenn Close as Kala really steals the show. #Tarzan #DisneysTarzan #DisneyRenaissance

Always felt the reverse rotting on the pumpkin in Halloween 2018 was less a dig about reviving a rotten franchise and more about how The Shape was reawakened after seeing his old mask.

Enjoyed Alien Earth even more on my second watch. This is definitely not what I expected or wanted, and a few years ago I would have hated this. But with time and perspective, I appreciate it more when risks are taken, and these characters and their journey really grew on me.

I'm reading Gentleman Jim by Raymond Briggs, and he's not exactly subtle with his feelings about the police.

My thoughts on the first season of Alien Earth. Still not up there with the first three and isn't as Alien focused as I would have liked. But I would be lying if I said I wasn't interested to see where it goes.
