The biggest thing we have to fear is **underreacting**.

"Keep calm and carry-on" is for when you trust your leaders.
No my dudes.

Feeling good for a moment is not fixing anything. That is how drug addiction works too.

Go to therapy so you don't mistake access to someone's body as being a functional individual.

My favorite thing I saw today was the number of laugh emojis on the CBS Facebook post about this.

The laugh emoji was the only emoji with enough hits to be displayed.

No one is buying it. Law enforcement's credibility, especially ICE, is in the garbage.

Projection is a hell of a drug.
December 29, 2025 at 2:54 AM
This is wonderful.

But an American doing it during the same period has a bit more weight bc they are rejecting something their culture tried to make them think was normal.

The Beatles had no reason to ever think it was normal.

The thing they are terrified of the most is being cast out.
December 29, 2025 at 2:40 AM
I feel like the Internet has made our country culturally schizophrenic -- paranoid about people they used to trust and only listening to deranged voices that amplify the worst impulses
December 29, 2025 at 1:50 AM
I'm really beginning to suspect a lot of male privilege is just violence or aggression avoidance.

I know I'm guilty of giving overconfident men I don't know the benefit of the doubt bc it's easier than trying to proceed with a *resentful* male of unknown character in the equation.
December 28, 2025 at 9:33 AM
ICE agents are this country's future mass shooters.

That is what people like them do when their authority is stripped and they see consequences coming.

This fever of hateful violence has a long way to go before breaking.
December 27, 2025 at 8:40 AM
You might want to double-check your math there
December 27, 2025 at 5:12 AM
There's a lot of speculation that deranged-gramps probably won't see the 4th of July.

Both my parents ended up with tobacco-related cancers, and I have life-long asthma from exposure to their habit.

I *wish* this had been an option in the 80s. I dngaf if people want to stay on nicotine their whole lofe, but there is no second-hand anything with this system.
December 22, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Since I have a chemistry background, I did some reading

Nicotine can be extracted by those solvents but also by ethanol and even by water with acid/base chemistry

To be FDA approved, vendor must confirm purity >99.5%, absence of residual solvents & pass Ames mutagenicity assay

Def safer than cigs
December 22, 2025 at 12:35 AM
You are looking for an out because your point was shown to be off the mark.

The safety of nicotine pouches is still being assessed. But extraction is used for every pharmacuetical ever taken and for the caffeine and sugar of every soda anyone has ever drunk.
December 21, 2025 at 11:20 PM
Nicotine itself is not a carcinogen. You are thinking of chewing tobacco, where the tobacco plant is full of carcinogens.

Safety for these pouches is still being studied, but the known carcinogens are absent.

And if you want MORE you need BETTER.

Your avg Dem candidate is reserved, already selling compromise with big donors, and talks more about 'reaching across the aisle' than accomplishing anything.

You are delusional if you think that is meeting this political moment or can restore the rule of law
December 21, 2025 at 7:39 PM
I'll take the chance. You know why?

Because the best way for these groups to gain power is to actually deliver.

DNC and GOP are also a grift.

Time to try some new grifters, ie, politicians.
December 21, 2025 at 4:34 AM
Stop trolling. "Fresh blood" is an extremely common American euphemism.

You are trying to muddy the waters by confounding it with "soil and blood" which has a completely different meaning.

Especially since many of the "fresh blood" candidates would be like Mamdani - 1st or 2nd gen PoC
December 21, 2025 at 4:29 AM
Ok, you clearly don't know what 'fascism' means if you think advocating for outside voices sounds like it
December 21, 2025 at 4:11 AM
Keep telling yourself that Americans will keep having duds like Schumer, Hillary and Kamala shoved down their throat.

Now that the Epstein files are being released, anyone with ties to the Clintons are poisoned.

The establishment of both parties is dead.

It is time for fresh, uncorrupted blood
December 21, 2025 at 4:02 AM
The DNC will not run candidates that are too progressive.

But progressive policies are wildly popular and sorely needed.

Bc the DNC is a machine to stop progress unless it makes Wall Street or other deep pockets richer.

This is a consequence of Citizens United and other "money is speech" policies
December 21, 2025 at 2:49 AM
It is one politician who publicly took the blame.

Please keep in mind incentives and, well, 'politics' when you read the news.

Spin is always part of the game, but if you pay attention to who has influence and what they want very little will surprise you.

Dems caved on shutdown bc they are weak
December 21, 2025 at 2:43 AM
Based on your other post about running primaries, and the rush of panicked pearl-clutchers swarming to comment -- I think you guys are on the right track 💙💙💙.

Let's try to save this crazy place we call home.
December 20, 2025 at 11:16 PM
The DNC doesn't run anyone who is genuinely exciting. Killed Bernie's campaign, tried to kill Mamdani's. Look at what they did to David Hog.

Please wake up. The DNC is about selling minor change and delivering nothing.

Democracy is begging for better and FINALLY someone is taking the mantle.
December 20, 2025 at 11:13 PM
You act as though we don't have a screaming example of the DNC working against what can *win* to promote grifter candidates -

Momdani had to *fight* the DNC *despite* winning the primary and being so popular he even won some Trump voters back.

The DNC runs stooges who deserve to be primaried.
December 20, 2025 at 11:09 PM
These problems are old - older than you are thinking of.

I'm actually referring to "Blue Dog" Dems killing the public option in 2009.

If we don't elect the *right* Dems, policy we need still gets drowned in the Insurance Lobby's bathtub.
