"1 person alone is never sufficient; necessary to adopt the observations of others to clarify that which fits better."
Yes, you are absolutely correct. I really really struggle to make a point of reading anybody anybody at all who might be interpreted as on other side of aisle. Basically Julius Krein, Douhat, and weird Palladium people. Eyes gloss over many parts

Hopefully this rec is better; looks interesting

The way to go viral is to write critiques as unseriously as possible apologies for dipping you into dredges of Discourse.....

Speaking of, a more interesting essay on a topic which has, more reasonably, been elevated to top, the dumbing of our minds. Can Mind be preserved under condition? How long?

This book looks fascinating @musefoundry.bsky.social simongros1990.com/2025/07/20/a...

When this set of ideas initially captured my attention in HS visiting Marx, they have burrowed deep into my brain such that I am always rewriting them, and always will

It's interesting there are some messages that I agree with mostly, then I take a moment to consider the source & rethink the position

To extent view driven by SV hyperefficiency drive, I think do not take yourself too seriously "preference for primitive" is wise @musefoundry.bsky.social

It's been a while since I interjected @musefoundry.bsky.social but this is a very inviting reference that connects directly to Hedgehog Review nostalgia and it's discontents essay

Walking around mildly affluent parts of America disorienting experience we've build Utopia, but it's empty

Attempting to keep you up to date on hellsite, which you did not ask for @musefoundry.bsky.social

Very intriguing reference related to prior nostalgia essay I shared with you

Note also the author has answer for his core. Writing in the late 40's, he had no idea just how far humanity would drift into "measuring attitudes on toothpaste"

Lippman Mastery or Drift frequently cited as an evocative binary to end drift must have some grounding in social concreteness

Perhaps hasty to interpret that, along with Goethe, Dewey most formative to your thought @musefoundry.bsky.social as I know others, notably Langer, have been added to your philosophical play but looking from distance core seems to me Goethe/Dewey

Not my core Goethe/Marx/Rosa, but Dewey untravelled
August 17, 2025 at 5:34 AM
I think Dewey had it exactly right @musefoundry.bsky.social

I don't agree with every word of this post but this on choice between embodied experience and abstract hackery is on point. Note my use of "boundary" abstraction can be enlightening just don't conflate it.

Reminds me of Lippmann on "routineers"

And btw @musefoundry.bsky.social interesting little section in dusty reference with lots of historical rhyming to your claim "Silicon Valley is the least innovative culture in the world" increasing salience of nonprice competition obsession over process blinders over unrelated innovations

An interesting comment and reply @musefoundry.bsky.social. @nilsgilman.bsky.social wrote Jayne/D&G intellectual history post recently
Desire might be to have profit w/o a body but for the moment a wild AI fantasy

The reply~ don't overimterpret unthinkingness of electorate "twas great victory"

Another rich essay where I'm hearing loud echoes to my waaaay too long 23 commentary on AI, which intuited firstness, secondness, thirdness idea w/o being aware of Peirce

Several ideas present in both want to revisit when done wandering in McDonough setting, Weimar Germany @musefoundry.bsky.social

@musefoundry.bsky.social Blumenberg's project of radical enlightenment, note also connection to reviving virtue/will not be flattened, resonates sharply as well

Had not previously encountered until one of my German followers shared his stack of Blumenberg books, an obsession of his

"dwelling on addition will not get you to E=mc2" how to move beyond paperclip maximizing line go up mentality without also initiating chain reactions which end in conflagration another puzzle

A beautiful book, Out of Control, which deserves SV canon @musefoundry.bsky.social "to evolve is to surrender choices. To become something new is to accumulate all the things you will never be...bound by endless constraints but constraints give place to stand. It may be to get anywhere need a body"

Man resents being taken out of process of production not in the Modern Times factory sense but in the discovering producing sense —and intriguingly he/she becomes more "productive" more is compelled into mechanistic review discipline

But the human condition hates it. (more accurately ~80%)

And now I hear the Cory Doctorow chant, was much stronger in the 90s and has since almost muted due to complexity of technology and whirlwind it engenders
