Don’t mind me.
Te Deum paraphrase set to Nettleton sort of works, but is still very weird.

This “Murder Before Evensong” show is entertaining, especially as they manage to cram in every British murder mystery cliché possible. Some curious vestment choices, though.

Another exciting thing that happened…

Blind tasting humiliation, but at least the process was very pleasurable.

“terroir” tasting of Claude Riffault Sancerre wines - one missing (my favorite Les Boucauds), included 2 reds and a rosé (meh). I have many thoughts, but my main takeaway is that this guy makes too many wines.

Ten 2018 Napa Cabs plus one Argentine interloper, tasted blind, and the favorite was the one I had never before tasted or even heard of: The Grade, Winfield Vineyard, Calistoga.

Delicata squash is apparently The Thing this year? At least it looks cool.

Admittedly too soon for the Meursault (delightful, nonetheless). Monthélie rouge is just hitting its stride and will be lovely for years to come.

Enjoyed a sip of Madeira with the Emperor of the French.

Been handing out candy for all of 30 minutes and I’m already bored. Portions are about to get bigger.

Ship container full of frozen Picpoul? I like a wine-slushie, but that’s a little much.

I guess our Xmas cactus is on some kind of lunar calendar, cuz last year it was a Thanksgiving cactus and this year is Halloween cactus.

Not sure what it says about me that my mid-sixties-year-old self reverted to my pre-teen self and wanted pizza for a recent bday dinner.

Just finished watching “Unforgotten” series 6. Excellent as usual, and I’ve *almost* forgiven them for the ending of series 4. A lot of credit goes to the AMAZING performance of Max Fairley as suspect Marty Bains. He deserves a BAFTA or whatever kind of award they give for tv acting these days.

Frida Kahlo exhibit at Virginia Museum of Fine Arts was mind-blowing. Art inseparable from its creator in a way I have never experienced.

Rewatching Kenneth Branagh’s Shakespeare films from the 90s, I clearly didn’t realize at the time just how cheesy they are. Biggest culprit are the musical scores (ok and some of the acting) A lot *could* have been done with some period appropriate tunes. (No “Agincourt” song at Agincourt?)

It’s bad when someone you haven’t seen in a dozen+ years, who was never more than a passing acquaintance, says, “my, you sure do look…different.” I guess I should be grateful she didn’t actually say the words old, fatter, and uglier.
