... Incredibly stubborn about user autonomy for well over a decade now. I cannot freely trust them to do anything favorable to home users right now when the closest thing to "opt out of data collection" is a switch with "Yes/Limited".

Just to be clear, when people say "turn it off", they don't simply mean "sweep it under the rug and hide the interfaces for it", they mean completely disable all services and behavior related to Copilot that act behind the curtains.

Gaming might be a huge asset for Linux, but it can't be the only thing or it won't be taken seriously as an alternative by anyone outside of the niche of tech nerds.

I like Linux, but there's a *lot* that still needs to be done.

* Get brick-and-mortar retailers to stock PCs with Linux loaded.
* Idiot-proof all the main DEs as far as possible (and then some).
* Convince creative software (Adobe, Autodesk, FL Studio, etc) to make viable ports.

Probably more.
