Through retribution Psyche suffered many impossible trials at the behest of Aphrodite. One by one the gods took pity on her, and after testing her resolve to win back the heart of Eros she was able to persevere through their divine intervention.
At the end of it all, Psyche was reunited with Eros.

Psyche woke up in a field near her jealous sisters. She told them about fumbling a god of love, so they sought Eros out themselves
