On Saturday, I joined my fellow New Yorkers in the streets of Manhattan to make one thing clear: Tyranny and liberty cannot live in the same house. Today and every day, we say No Kings. #NoKings

Today on #IndigenousPeoplesDay, we honor the strength and sovereignty of Indigenous peoples across this nation. Indigenous people are the foundation of this nation, not a footnote to it, and their voices and history must be centered, valued, and respected today and every day.

This is what Trump and Republicans do. They don’t get their way so instead of turning to good governance, they put critical projects and thousands of jobs at risk.

Our communities deserve investment, not political retribution.

ICYMI I'm incredibly proud to endorse @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social in his race for Mayor of New York City.

I've dedicated my career to the people of Brooklyn, and I'm confident Mamdani will be a fearless advocate to partner with and deliver real solutions for New Yorkers.

Looking forward to a powerful conversation about meaningful solutions

Carnival is such a beautiful tradition, and we highlight the beauty and diversity of the diaspora with our own version here in Brooklyn, known as the West Indian Day Parade. Drop some of your favorite memories from the Parkway as we count down to Monday

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night in kicking off Carnival Week and HUGE shoutout to Savvy Bistro for making our event so incredible. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the Parkway!

The West Indian Day Parade is one of my favorite traditions, held in the beautiful Crown Heights neighborhood. The tradition originates from Caribbean traditions and celebrates West Indian culture and heritage. It highlights the beauty and diversity of our incredible community.

As Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, I know what’s at stake. Next Monday, I'll be in Charlotte, NC at the NAACP Convention to talk about defending democracy and civil rights in this volatile moment.

This is the fight of our time.

Proud to support @rollingseaaf.bsky.social and @cbcpac.bsky.social in the fight to elect Black women. The moment we're in demands that resilient, committed, and principled leaders are at the helm to steer us through choppy waters.

When #BlackWomenLead, we ALL win.

The story of America is unfinished, but every generation has the chance to bring us closer to freedom, justice, and equality for all.

That’s the work I’ll never stop doing for Brooklyn and for this nation.

Stay safe and have a happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

This year, we carry the weight of Juneteenth more heavily.

But today is a day to honor the generations before us who risked everything to dream of justice, even when a brighter future seemed utterly impossible. No matter the setbacks, we will keep fighting and overcome.

When authoritarianism threatens our communities, our principles, and the very fabric of our nation – we show up and we speak out.

Gather your folks and join NO KINGS tomorrow, a national day of nonviolent action to resist white supremacy and fascism!

I'm ranking @adrienne4thepeople.bsky.social #1 on my ballot June 24.

Mother, grandmother, City Council Speaker, and next, NYC Mayor– there's nothing she can't do! Her track record of delivering for the people of New York speaks for itself:

When #BlackWomenLead, we ALL win.

Over a year ago, Trump twisted my words for his violent anti-immigrant agenda – but I didn't back down.

Today, as he and House Republicans continue to direct their vitriol at me and other members of the Congressional Black Caucus, we're continuing to link arms and stand up to fascism.

It’s an honor to have closed out Earth Month with the endorsement of @lcv.org, among the ranks of many other pro-climate champions in Congress.

Together, we’re fiercely protecting our air & water, public lands, clean energy jobs, and affordable energy.

Taking time today to honor the life of Alexis Herman, my Delta sister and the first Black woman to serve as Secretary of Labor.

She dedicated her life to advocating for working-class Americans, and her decades of service opened the door for generations of Black women after her.

Today is about recommitting to the fight to protect our planet, from defending the environmental regulations that keep our air and water clean to advocating for the transition to clean energy.

May we leave a healthier world behind for future generations! #EarthDay

The president is using the same playbook used by fascists throughout history. So let me remind everyone:

We will not back down.
We will stand in solidarity with our neighbors.
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
