Voters’ Vanguard
@votersvanguard.bsky.social
A non-partisan, voter led coalition defending the US Constitution & gov. by, for & of the people. The consent of the governed is the sole source of legitimate authority/governmental power, as expressed via the vote & exercised through 3 CO-EQUAL branches.
100%! I spend as much time as possible talking to MAGAs & always play it straight. I don’t ever call them names. I try to assume they’re either lacking info that would make a diff. or they’ve made a good faith mistake bc of being lied to. If they’re a jerk/intellectually dishonest, my tone changes.

But I agree about the whole, “weird,” & “deplorable,” thing. I hated that. Idk why exactly but Waltz struck me as reminiscent of the asshole teachers who delighted in joining in w/kids picking on people like me in high school when I was dying my hair pink & reading books they thought were bizarre.

Yeah, rather stupid, I’d characterize him as unsophisticated+unpolished. He has that lizard brain instinct to try to dominate+demean but it’s all id, very little strategy. At least little strategy relative to his peers. Most billionaires plan every step & can be diligent to reach a goal but not him.
March 16, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Yeah that’s the biggest thing. The success of rw media+the integrated propaganda dispersal apparatus helping them via Christian Nationalist/hard right extremist cultural links & the ideological perversion of k-12 curriculums in red states where the charter school/privatization racket has flourished.

Yes, I talked about this a little bit in the video explaining the Voters’ Vanguard coalition idea. We all need to give each other grace. We can’t expect everyone to have read what we’ve read or to have realized the things that seem obvious to us. Everyone THINKS they’re behaving reasonably.

DJT appears to some people to be authentic. I don’t see him as authentic at all. But the fact that he’s so erratic & doesn’t censor himself comes across that way to some people. That’s the kind of personality trait pro strategists & campaign data analysts always tell the DNC to run away from.
March 16, 2025 at 5:59 PM
Yeah, as far as I know that’s accurate. The largest group of voters in 2024 was the people who didn’t vote at all. Which must be infuriating for people outside the country who are nonetheless impacted by our political decisions.
March 16, 2025 at 5:37 PM
I understand. It’s an opposite experience of political belonging compared to mine but what you’re describing makes sense. Throughout my adult life, Dems have treated the progressives terribly. They either ignore or belittle us during campaigns & blame us afterwards when voters don’t go for their bs.
March 16, 2025 at 5:27 PM
Exactly, it’s just so surreal. It makes sense if someone like me (a radical leftist) says Biden sucks, but R voters should dig his ways. When I see MAGA comments about what a nightmare the last 4 years were under Biden I don’t get why they can’t see the disparity between the FOX narrative & reality.

It’s hard to fathom how anyone can fail to see it. I mean, I’ve spent lots of time studying fascism, the effects of propaganda, the group think phenomenon & how it works in politics and all the other related topics, so I have an intellectual familiarity w/it. But on a gut level, it’s just, how…why?
March 16, 2025 at 4:43 PM
I completely agree! Even when I thought Harris would win my goal was drastically revamping our elections system & eventually maybe having a constitutional convention. It’s LONG overdue. The failure to respond to the needs of the people are what left the country vulnerable to the influence of Trump.
March 16, 2025 at 4:36 PM
Oh definitely! The swing in the poll numbers/votes for the Canadian election say it all! If the stock price & European sales numbers for Tesla are anything to go by, there will be record turn out & extremely enthusiastic support for lib-left parties in upcoming elections. Here’s hoping!
March 16, 2025 at 4:27 PM
I know, but I also think he wouldn’t have won if not for dirty tricks. Even w/out going into the more esoteric theories involving Starlink, the stuff Cleta Mitchell’s group was doing may have made the crucial difference. They purged 10,000s of voters & threw out 100,000s of ballots. Maybe millions.
March 16, 2025 at 4:23 PM
When I last checked (spring 2024) it was 29%=R, 32%=D and the remainder are Independent/unaffiliated+3rd party. The thing is R voters turn out more reliably than D & other voters. So even though there are fewer members of the party, they almost all show up no matter how ridiculous the candidate is.
March 16, 2025 at 4:18 PM
The manufacturing of consent that always happened continues despite the fascism & unconstitutional nature of DJT’s auto-coup. R pols are already in an info bubble anyway. The threat of primary challenges by Musk backed loyalists is what folks keep mentioning & also violence from MAGA foot soldiers.
March 16, 2025 at 3:56 PM
That’s the truth but I wish it wasn’t. Fortunately, the one thing people actually expect him to be good at he’s screwing up royally. So if an objective observer considers the incompetence, utter destructiveness & brazen unconstitutionality of it all, it’s basically impossible to argue in his favor.

This has giving me some hope. If more folks realized the 2024 US election wasn’t just biz as usual, increased turnout alone should have made it impossible for DJT to win. Even w/out any of his voters peeling off, if the election were today he’d lose overwhelmingly. Learn from the folly of US voters!
March 16, 2025 at 3:32 PM
It’s based on how many said they wanted him to be the nominee in 2024. Yes, a large # of the other 1/2 apparently also were willing to vote for him in the general election, but that doesn’t mean they like him. It just means they didn’t dislike him enough to take the criticism of him seriously.
March 16, 2025 at 3:28 PM
Oh I’m sure it will be! The biggest single new(ish) factor in US politics is certainly in play in the UK+all over Europe too. Active Measures/TradWest Russian disinfo is like cat nip to a segment of the population & their ability to twist social media algorithms to their purposes isn’t diminishing.
March 16, 2025 at 3:13 PM
I hope people in the UK understand how few US citizens are actually in favor of what he’s doing. I know people outside the US tend to be better informed about our politics/gov. than we are about theirs, but do they know that ALL Republicans=<30% of the electorate & only about 1/2 of them are MAGA?
March 16, 2025 at 3:03 PM
Imo, voters ARE ready. We must pressure Rs in Congress NOW to caucus w/Ds. Then we can impeach DJT+Vance. Anyone who’s eligible (Bernie or Judge Luttig for ex.) can become Speaker. Once they rise to POTUS they’d form a caretaker admin., schedule new elections & convene a constitutional convention.
