So to spend time on something that, to me, is blatantly just inciting fear, and that doesn’t help our teachers or students in their learning environment (…) is embarrassing. The resolution is embarrassing
April 2, 2025 at 4:16 PM
The resolution is not only offensive and full of false narratives, it is a complete waste of time. This resolution is unnecessary, creates misleading narratives, fuels culture wars, and is, frankly, embarrassing. #utpol #uted via @ksl.com www.ksl.com/article/5128...

The irony-- The #UtLeg and Cox implemented dozens of bills into law that, on a state level, have added layers of bureaucracy, removed local flexibility and governance, and created additional red tape for LEAs through various state monitoring requirements.
Sarah Reale, a member of the Utah State Board of Education, called Cox’s column “ironic.” While he argues for local control, she said, he has “signed dozens of bills into law" that have added additional layers of bureaucracy and removed local flexibility.

In Utah's municipal elections, voting by mail has drastically increased voter turnout, BYU researchers found.

An example: In Kamas, participation in local elections rose from 9% to 52% after vote-by-mail was implemented.
Before vote by mail, some local elections saw single-digit turnout. Looming reforms worry cities.
