It's very much a non linear puzzle game so bee lining for one thing will just be miserable. Again, just my two cents. If you're completely turned off from the game I'd understand.

not having other clues that give the puzzle context, but I personally enjoyed it a lot more when I treated the rng objectives as secondary to the main objective. I know it can be frustrating if you want to laser focus in on one specific thing, but it really seems like the game wasn't meant for that.
