As a kid I just accepted that sometimes text colours were absolutely fucking mental. It was the future. You just had to go along with it.

I remember being so impressed as a kid by 3D graphics on an apple ][ that you could code and make rotate etc. Somehow these crude shapes are in my memory as being very realistic! Lol.

My son trained his cat to go on a leash. Absolute mayhem when I went. None of it was like a normal walk. Jumping up on walls, big delays in sniffing stuff etc. Took 30 mins to go 300 yards.

I love spell check. Do you wanna mangle it a bit? Y/N

What an insane system.

lmao. They count talking to somebody else over the internet as "talking to the computer."

If nobody believes that government spending is private sector income then just look at the sectoral balance. The government & private sectors are simply mirror images of each other. If government tries to run a surplus that is just a bad private sector deficit. You can't run gov like a business.

It was a nice 2 days away in Cornwall. We hired a bunk house the whole weekend. Works out really cheap if you can get 10 people together to mostly fill the place. Cookers and everything. We got very drunk and played music and dice games and walked.

Weird how chatbots think a Dyson Sphere is a dumb idiocy if you ask about energy policy. They rightly just poo poo it. Yet if you have a gallactic empire to run then it's obviously a necessary & inevitable tool regardless of theory. Physics be damned. Politics wins if you just mention bigger scale.

I'm not a journalist. I'm a programmer. I've just been paying attention to tech industry hype machine for decades out of necessity. A journalist should at least pay attention. Maybe talk to some people? VC don't need a useful or viable product. It's about hyping up valuations then dumping the bag.

It's absolutely hilarious that I have 2 DMs waiting but can't actually read them because of stupid UK online safety act law. I just get to see number go up occasionally. I'm not going to do a stupid thing to see them.

Watched a video by someone who was fundamentalist home schooled talking about conspiracies they were taught as a kid & this comment below killed me. Humans are so damn crazy inconsistent.

It's a cool research toy and should have stayed that way. It's not viable as a product. The numbers don't add up. But VC doesn't need them to.

No reasons. Just meows. I can guarantee if I follow him he will want nothing. Just meows.

They ended up with a massive junk ridden code base that was impossible to maintain. The problem in programming isn't writing the code. For something like a serious product that will exist for many years, it's making sure it makes sense, can be altered, improved, and still works. Code is a tiny part.

Someone in the pub had an awesome beetle which apparently has a giant penis. Given as a present from a departing phd student.

The giant ghecko is pretty much a sausage dog lizard.

Went to a farm today that built a pond for swimming with a sauna next to it. Only 30 mins from me but had never heard of it before.
