Here to bonk vatniks and send love & support to Ukrainians fighting for their country and family.
I remember it too, and it's not the same thing at all.

0% of voters thought Obama's contempt for Romney made him unfit to be President.

80% of voters think Biden is too old at 81 for a second term, and the debate reinforced that.

Biden's opponent is time, and time is relentless.

Also every day: Biden gets a day older.

(Your analysis is spot-on)

These same Democrats care deeply about the future of the country.

If you rewatch or read the transcripts Biden’s meandering thoughts were discernible but meandering and ill-advised.

I love the guy, and it’s vital the next president is a Democrat, but old age is old age, it happens to the best of us.

Literally everything Trump said was a dumpster fire of lies.

No reasonable person has an issue with Biden's stuttering. (Trump is not reasonable). When he stutters, it's clear what he is trying to say.

What he was doing last night was troubling because it was not stuttering. His thoughts were meandering and unclear. It was a different condition entirely.

Technically you are right, as Dean Phillips got 3.2%, in 3rd place behind "Uncommitted" at 4.3%

However even Phillips urged a "moderate Governor" to run. None did.

The Democrat luminaries decided collectively not to oppose Biden. It was a party decision, not an electoral one.

Biden has been a great president, and he's a wonderful human being. However, he said before he ran in 2020 that he would run for one term.

The Dem primary went uncontested. There was no one else credible to vote for. That's not a democratic process.
June 28, 2024 at 4:33 PM
This went in a weird direction.

If Biden bows out, Harris can run at the convention like anyone else.

Most democratic countries around the world hold entire elections in less time than there is till the Democratic convention. There's no reason why 1968 would repeat.

Sorry I honestly don't understand what you're referring to.

Of course it's about age. My father had dementia. I know what it looks like. Biden has been a great president and friend of Ukraine. But everyone - every single one of us - will reach an age where we can no longer do our day job.
June 28, 2024 at 4:21 PM
No, if he bows out all of his delegates at the convention are free to vote for whoever they want.

The only instance where Harris automatically replaces Biden is if he dies.
June 28, 2024 at 4:17 PM
I'm not sure who you're referring to. Both Trump and Biden are highly unpopular. Hillary was even moreso.

There are lots of good young Democrat alternatives to Biden. Take a look at Gretchen Whitmer, for one.

😂 When it comes to the Stanley Cup, Canadians are the ones who need emotional support from their American friends.

I'm a huge Biden fan and his support for Ukraine has been critical.

Unfortunately last night he was not coherent. It wasn't a stutter or a cold. He's just old. He reminded me of my mother and father when they reached the point where they needed care. We need to be honest with ourselves.
June 28, 2024 at 3:54 PM
Trump is the same lying asshole wannabe autocrat he has always been.

Biden is a good person and a friend of Ukraine, he has major achievements as a president… but he looked and acted very old, too old to continue for four more years.

Imo Biden should bow out and let the next generation take over
June 28, 2024 at 6:21 AM
Lol. Can you explain “fuck you by the collar”? Sounds like fun, maybe!
June 23, 2024 at 8:07 PM
Yes, this. I’ve been saying the same thing for two years.

We should give Ukraine everything it needs to win.

Wonkette is great, but attributing that much of inflation to greed is not believable. I think the greed explanation is popular because it's a) easy to make, and b) fits a progressive narrative. If you want a more nuanced but still progressive take, I would recommend Paul Krugman pkrugman@bsky.social
