It's a good point, and a real issue that the industry is trying to resolve. Things like equalising the VAT between home & public charging, plus dynamic pricing, and community hubs with AC for overnight top ups at low cost are all in play.

It used to be better. I tend to charge on Arnold Clark, or Sainsbury's rapids using Contactless nowadays. Less choice for AC chargers tho, but RFID via a roaming card like Electroverse is far more reliable than App or Webpay.
