How fucked is it that when we look for breaking news we have to consider how it’s going to affect what our algorithm will show us next time we’re just looking for cat videos?

“YoU CouLDn’T MakE Blazing Saddles ToDay!”

3. Or is it just that you’re using a movie with a message you know liberals agree with (“racism bad”) as a Trojan horse to argue for more people saying reprehensible edgelord shit in comedies? If so, please refer back to number one.

“YoU CouLDn’T MakE Blazing Saddles ToDay!”

2. Maybe you mean people wouldn’t put money behind that script. Good. We already have Blazing Saddles; if you want to make a movie about racism, advance the premise or the storytelling from what they could do in 1974. Make Get Out or Sinners.

1. Yes, you could. You’re probably reading this on a device that would let you shoot and edit the whole thing. If you really believe in it, you can make any movie you want.

Fellow geeks, what’s the earliest you remember being exposed to the Pop Culture War where one political side will “claim” a film/show/character as theirs for displaying support for their philosophy? It feels like it’s been sucking the joy out of certain spaces for over 25 years for me.

Random memory today: In college I happened upon a group of people in the common area of my dorm watching Pulp Fiction. It was a first viewing for several of them. What an opportunity to walk into. Was there a better movie to watch people experience for the first time as a film geek in 2003?

How shocking, how fucking surprising, that a “studio insider” would blame a bomb on the fact that women were the target audience. It’s never just a bad movie that no one wanted to see. How original. You must be one of those “creative execs” I hear so much about.

Yesterday: soloed Warlord’s Ruin, my first solo dungeon.

Today: Finally got not one, but two, Ros Arago drops with Onslaught…

…but BOTH came with Slickdraw.

Bad RNG now means more luck for a Buried Bloodline drop next reset. That’s how karma works, right?

I’m back trawling Last Wish for the free chests. If I can get one more red border fusion or pulse rifle I’ll be able to craft both of them after I finish Riven’s Wishes.

Finishing up reading The Lord of the Rings for the first time in almost twenty years. It’s hilarious in a maddening way how compelling I find The Scouring of the Shire chapter today. I barely remember reading it the first time around.

There are some movies I get tired of hearing about when the conversation turns to classics, modern or otherwise. Die Hard. Jurassic Park. The Dark Knight. But when I take time to sit down and watch one of them again, I have to say, “Fuck, it really is THAT good.”

My parents have not reached the point where I have to explain technology to them. However, I did just spend 15 minutes going through a 16-year-old episode of ER with them so I could identify various actors using iMDB. Is this how it starts?

A new account is like a fresh notebook: I spend way too long thinking about what I should start it with. So half the time I end up dumping something about my insecurities as a creator on the page just to get it out of the way.
