Not going to lie, one of the best things about doing gigs again is when the Indiehorse photo album gets published.

Gig on Wednesday night was great! Lovely to meet a couple of friendly Australians and play some new songs.

Farewell to my old car 😢 more than 12 years together, two house moves, three jobs, too many gigs to count.

HELLO to my new car 🤩 and new adventures!

Made it over to Sheffield to see Mayshe-Mayshe despite not currently having a fully functional car. You can't stop me from enjoying an evening of beautifully live-looped dream pop! You cannot!

Early gig-of-the-year contender tonight, Anna Erhard and Nyssa at the Bodega! Anna's songs are so witty and unusual, I've heard the one about the blue man group many times but the line "why are they blue anyway?" still made me laugh so hard, so great.

Cowtown, Good Grief and @pinkopaque.co.uk were also among my highlights! And getting to see so many friends in one place was wonderful (and a little overwhelming). Back to normal life now, I guess.

Had an excellent weekend at @sweepingthenation.bsky.social's Leicesterval weekender! Bands were great all weekend but @dancerband.bsky.social were my favourites, here they are looking appropriately regal...

#10 Architecton. For a good chunk of this documentary I thought it was just going to be about how much the director liked rocks. I admired that, a weirdly pure subject matter. Striking visuals, good music. But then it ends with a really bland interview with an architect that soured me on it.

49. Dancer! Finally reached the end of my wardrobe, since I started with my oldest t-shirt it makes sense to end with the newest! Think these are maybe the most exciting band in the UK right now, excited to see them again in a couple of weeks!

#9 Heart Eyes. Pretty fun rom-com / slasher mash-up, some good gags and solid gore. Not sure it'll stick in my head for long but a decent time at the cinema.

48. Martha! A final appearance from the band of many t-shirts, this is my favourite design that they've done.

47. Grain Mother! A second appearance for these excellent locals, this time in short-sleeve form. You should go and listen to them. Yes, you: grainmother.bandcamp.com/track/3am

46. Illuminati Hotties! A third and final appearance from a band I love very much - awkwardly posed to also include a poster of the first album hanging in my "music room" where I should be working on new songs and not dicking around on here.

#8 Companion. Excellently twisty, witty sci-fi thriller. Another one that got enough good word of mouth from friends that I felt I had to see it, and they were right. Excellent performance from Sophie Thatcher and I loved the soundtrack.

45. Radiator Hospital! Something Wild and Torch Song are both near-perfect albums IMO - missing this band when they toured the UK with Martha is one of my big musical regrets.

44. Onsind! Incredible Durham folk-punk and yes, also half of Martha which means that approx. 40% of my clothing has these two people on it.

43. Colour Me Wednesday! Finally remembered to pick this one out on an actual Wednesday. Great band (especially the first album) and I'm a big Addams Family fan so I love the design!

Girl Scout at the Bodega tonight. Saw them last year at the same venue for Dot to Dot and they were excellent, great to see them headline and deliver more big choruses and Swedish accents. Local support Penny Moon were good too, new to me, would watch again.

#7 September 5. Gripping TV-news thriller with some fantastic technical detail - love seeing old tech stuff like this. Good to see films can still be a tight 90ish minutes too. Hard to separate the 70s Israel / Palestine stuff from feelings on the current nightmare though.

42. Dream Phone! Crazy glitchcore / hyperpunkpop band from Oxford. So much fun live.

41. Martha! Again again again! Some more complex back-print photography required here. I'm not a huge fan of the back-print t-shirt style to be honest. I do love Martha though, if that wasn't already very clear.

40. The Boo Radleys! Saw the (mostly) reunited version of my first proper favourite band at a weird local festival in 2022 and got to meet Sice. Was a bit emotional. He was lovely!
