Vector art of Areon, my werewolf-like alien character. It's the first page of his character sheet. He's a member of the "Lupine" species who are technologically advanced and make use of body augmentations, but keep them subtle since they value their natural appearance. Areon looks very much like a werwolf: He has a wolf's head, dark gray fur all over his body, his legs are digitigrade and his posture is hunched. Unlike a regular werewolf, he has a kangaroo-like tail and a different nose. Vector art of Areon, my werewolf-like alien character. It's one page of his character sheet about the control strip, a black strip on his back going all the way down to the tip of his kangaroo-like tail. "Lupine typically have a control strip on their back reaching all the way to the end of their tail. It fulfills two purposes: 1. It’s a control unit for internal body augmentations, such as nanobots to accelerate an individual’s healing process and protect them from diseases and poison. 2. It’s an interface for external accessories. These can be clamped onto connector modules along key areas." There's a small drawing of the strip showing the connector, and one more with a bag attached. "The second half of this system is the visor. Unlike the control strip, the visor isn’t permanently integrated into the body and can be worn by individuals whenever they choose to. Apart from its functionality as communication device, it also wirelessly connects to the control strip, visualizes the status of both internal augmentations and external accessories, and even lets the user control them." There's a small drawing afterwards of Areon wearing a black visor with white shapes rendered on its surface resembling eyes and nostrils.

The planned order today was paws -> tail -> shading, but shading helps with visualizing so I first completed the unmodified paws and then added the shading. :areon3VMlem:

I hope all those devs who went "I don't need to optimize, there's plenty of RAM" are going to get slapped with complaints about bad performance because the software runs like shit on new computers whose RAM size traveled back to 2015

these one-click AI edit buttons are incredibly appealing to many photographers, amateurs and professionals alike, and are framed as innocuous

this is worth sharing and educating people about

A neat goose hybrid posted to ‘What’s this Bird?’ but when you zoom in on the photos the bill details have been too manipulated by AI photo editing to be accurately assessed for which species may be involved. Scroll on… A cool-looking Red-tailed Hawk that someone is wondering which subspecies it might be - right up my alley! But when you zoom in on the photos literally every feather group has been so heavily manipulated and altered by AI editing that it’s impossible to determine subspecies because the photo is essentially fake now; just a mashup of whatever AI thinks parts of a Red-tail should look like. Scroll on… WOW! That’s a remarkable trail cam photo of a Bobcat! It almost looks like a painting!… but the head looks oddly small…. hmmmm. After some prodding the original photo is produced and sure enough it had been so heavily altered by AI ‘post processing’ that the photo posted was essentially a digital mock-up with totally different proportions and fur markings. No longer the photo off the trail cam; it may as well have just been ‘created’ by AI from scratch. This stuff is killing me. My days on social media are becoming very limited. We can’t even trust simple, everyday photos of animals to be real. The wildlife community needs to quit editing with AI, and we need to start calling out photographers that are using it. Our reality is being destroyed all around us.
