I think apps with vibe coding should include a disclaimer, so I should avoid it

Should be but it isn't and open access is very expensive. Some universities cover the costs by default. But they shouldn't have to do that to begin with. Some publishers make fortunes. My comment have nothing to do with Arvix btw. Just about the madness of academia

I am from a family of academics and I always found it insane that you need to pay a fortune to make your own work open access.

I don't know if you agree or not but to me it seems that AI is completely destroying any idea exchange networks and the good parts of the internet as a whole.

Pure shit

I use modular synths because I understand them. They just make sense. 😄 I always struggled with most normal synths and other conventual gear. Truth be told I hate to read manuals.

So now they are applying standard academic practises because people are abusing their system. I find it funny and ironic.

To be honest I could see this actually working without AI. If they charged by the hour 🤣 for a human to remotely clean your house

Btw there are some extreme small ML/LLMs out there that don't require much power. They are not accurate enough. But I can easily see someone using one in the near future as a generative feature in a module.

Bare in mind that I come from a very technical background. So it depends if the underlying algorithm is based on semi random number sequences or specific music theory. I guess semi random or grammar based. Adaptive is also a possible candidate.

I always avoided the term generative, due to personal disagreements with the concept. But now I dread it like the plague.

I know it's a bit off topic, but I only know, one boomer that still codes today. I would even dare to say there aren't even enough amount of gen X that codes :D, so how the fck did she came up with boomer?

but at the end of the day it is just software engineering

Yeah and it's annoying. I used to use a few recipes from a certain website. And everytime I would google "X food" "Y website" and it would always come up. Recently it stopped. So I though maybe it's not there any more ..but it is. So I navigated manually and written down the ones I care about. Shame

I don't own either, so do you research, but I wanted to do multichannel recording both from external hw and eurorack for a while so I was looking into getting one of them.
