Never really posted my reaction to the first 3 ep., and it’s 6 hours till ep. 4 so I thought I’d share the pre-notes/bulletpoint journaling I do reflecting on the past 3 + looking forward to the next:

Two, the scene with Rhuarc setting the stones for burial of the dead after Egwene expresses distress at the idea of not having it done for the Tuatha’an. Three, Forsaken Meeting.” “5 things I loved: One, Mat starting to slip into Old Tongue. Two, Siuan with her Tairen sayings and fish/fishing metaphors. Three, getting Bain and Chiad characterization. Four, funeral rights added for Arafel and Tanchico in ways that make the world feel bigger. Five, the weight put on characters’ trauma and PTSD.” “3 things I hated: One, the way Ryma was handled. Not just her offscreen freeing but the underuse of her dynamic with Nynaeve except for that one Mat scene. Two, little lore things changed that are always going to cause the internal book reader in me to wince. Things added that make the world deeper are always going to be easier to swallow than things that contradict what’s in the books and/or shifts things problematically for certain future storylines, as far as changes go. Three, I’m worried about Nynaeve’s handling and Siuan’s handling. Though that is nothing new.” The second photo is a continuation of the Note screenshotted in the previous photo. This one pertains to looking forward to episode 4, rather than reflecting on episodes 1, 2, and 3. The text is as follows: “5 things I’m excited to see for Episode 4: One, the introductions of Couladin, Sevanna, Muradin, Bruan, and Bael. Two, (possibly?) Grounding the Spears between the Shaido and Taardad (which we seemed to see in the teaser for the fourth episode). Three, the show’s interpretation of the glass columns and the rings. Four, Aviendha’s emotional arc she will MOST DEFINITELY have this episode all things considered. Five, the shift from Common Tongue to Old Tongue as the visions go on back through time.” “3 things I’m worried about for Episode 4: One, that having Rand and Moiraine both having screen time in their trials will make one or both feel off; incomplete. Two, that Mat’s absence during the travel in and out of Rhuidean is going to hit the book reader in me more than I have prepared myself for consciously. Three, that BECAUSE of all the good reviews and BECAUSE of how beloved the chapter is for me that I am going to go in with expectations not as tempered properly as they should be and end up feeling disappointed.”

Deleting the post to not spread misinformation but keeping proof of it up for accountability’s sake, since if you don’t click on it the replies to show it was incorrect don’t show up and that bothers me when people are going to be quickly scrolling without clicking on everything they see.
Post commented on this post with my account that says “And even if it DIDN'T makes aesthetic sense; they're filming in SOUTH AFRICA. Yes ABSOLUTELY sacrifice that regardless so you don't have a bunch of people that burn even in moderate sun OUT IN THE DESERT. Let the actors in question get to remember their lines w/o their skin working against 'em y'all.”

Looks like the 12 Aiel clans DID become 8 to match that new number pattern (and the chiefs’ chairs from the books are at Al’Cair Dal and made of stone now)
What looks to be Al’Cair Dal, with a curved rock formation where 8 chairs of stone sit (some with men sitting in or standing near them and three which are not), stone steps going down into the pale sand where a circular flat rock sits, which Rand and Couladin both stand on with their sleeves removed to bare their arms. Aiel can be seen in the bottom corner of the shot watching from where they surround this.

DOES COULADIN HAVE A HALF-UP MAN BUN???
Rand and another man stand in what we see in another overhead shot to be Al’Cair Dal. The other man beside Rand has twin dragon tattoos and is standing in the center with him, with sleeves removed so his arms are showing. He has red hair that goes to his shoulders and looks pulled half-up with a bun.

RHUIDEAN MY BELOVED. (Also the spears ARE an actual thing in the show, you can see them in this shot of the trailer)

Are those mounds that the butt of the spears are driven into? Are those GRAVES after a battle?!
Rand carrying Moiraine is centered in the shot, in a desert landscape, surrounded by spears driven into the sand with the spearhead points pointed towards the sky, as Rand walks through them. Cloth is tied right under the spearhead for a few of the spears. The ground is uneven and molded around the spears driven into the ground to keep them up. Rand is marked with a winding golden dragon marking on his right forearm under Moiraine’s back (we can’t see his left forearm because it is braced under her knees but if is presumed there’s a marking there too).

Just for the people worrying about Gaul not being in the show in the comments; I don’t think it would have been necessary to announce Gaul wasn’t the S1 dead Aiel in the cage to the point Rafe does to answer this question if Gaul wasn’t eventually gonna show up.
Reddit comment from a QnA comment section between “certifiedbowmage” and “WoTshowrunner” three years ago. Certifiedbowmage asks “As his presence is important to Perrin’s balance later in the series, tell me that was not Gaul in the cage.” WoTshowrunner, aka Rafe during the QnA, says in all caps: “ANNOUNCED HERE, SORRY AMAZON SPOILER TEAM” followed by “it was not Gaul.”

This is Anubis, destroyer of yarn. Once the closet where all the yarn was stored was left open; he was in heaven on a fluffy cloud (literally) but NEVER again. He likes to nap on top of the hardbacks in the bookshelf if he is allowed.
