basically he kept sneaking into super earth cities and ransacking food supplies but after they got tired of kicking him out they just let the with live there
then the automatons showed up and yoinked him

not all iridians look like this btw, the species has dozens of different subspecies or "variants" that each have different abilities and appearances, also their facial structure varies heavily between individuals
