Our very own Sophie Muller is at the Media Production and Technology Show at the Olympia Grand Hall in London today.

Here are a few pictures from inside the event:

The 4 types of interpreting in business📈

Take a look at the definitions of consecutive, simultaneous, liaison and sign language interpreting in the graphic.

#Interpreting
The graphic shows a table titled 'Types of interpreting in business'. There are the several types slightly to the left with the associated meanings to the right. The first aspect is consecutive interpreting. Meaning: The interpreters will listen to the speaker and when they pause, they will then repeat what has been said in the different language. They may take notes using symbols for longer parts of speech. This practise is useful for meetings, interviews and negotiations. The second aspect is simultaneous interpreting. Meaning: The translation of the language occurs without pauses. The interpreter listens to the sentence and offers a real-time translation of the spoken word. This method is often used at events and conferences. The third aspect is liaison interpreting. Meaning: This involves interpreting in and out of the language required. This could use the consecutive or simultaneous method. The fourth aspect is sign language interpreting. Meaning: Sign language interpreting, such as BSL or ASL, may be used for participants in a business meeting or event that are deaf or hard of hearing.

Here is an insight into the behind-the-scenes of an AI captions job last year. We supplied the Google event at ExCeL in London with English and Japanese captions.
