I think the reason they work so well is bc they were poems and songs from the people, not specifics poets 👀

Idk if you'll be able to find them on the web. but "The Green Little Shamrock of Ireland" by Andrew Cherry and "The Geraldine's Daughter" (no known author) really fall in the category of "written songs" imo!!

Maybe try Folk Irish poetry. I know it's super specific, but lowkey is the only type of poetry I personaly like 😆 Some of them are really just songs without music, in a way
