3/ But to pick now, it'd be using the chosen, and fierce part of the names. I play him off as an old king who's gained memories of his past life through his warrior jobstone. "But he has blue eyes now." That's an after-effect of being suffused with some of his old aether, his previous color.

2/ Originally I played off the idea of Volgrimm as an "odd" one, with golden eyes that is supposed to judge the worth of those he gazes upon, borrowing from the idea of the a Chooser of the Slain (WH40K - Space Wolves/equivalent to Valkyries). So unintentionally, it all falls together.
